A road map for stability in American Politics

This country has been United for nearly two and a half centuries. Many Americans hope that this is just a start. Others wish to overthrow the United States of America, replacing it with other forms of government. Those other forms have been tried and found insufficient. Others would gladly throw the country away for temporary political gain. If you are the former, you are a traitor and should be treated appropriately. If you are the latter you are a Seditionist and should be treated appropriately. In either case you will not like the ideas and concepts presented here. You are not only welcome, but requested to leave.

Notice the lack of advertising. This is a site designed to interest few people. The overriding mission is to establish support for a United States of America based on the Constitution of the United States of American as it is written.

This is a commentary site. If you have commentary that is contrary to the opinions stated here you may post your disagreements when I learn how to allow comments without risk. After it’s ready you must first register and all posts are monitored. Disagreement is acceptable, hate speech is not. Disrespect, profanity, threats or other undesirable activities will be reported along with your URL to appropriate sources as solely determined by the Site Manager. Be nice or be gone.

This isn’t social media copy and pasting, especially of one paragraph zingers are inappropriate. This is a site for new ideas. That is not to say humor is unappreciated. But hate humor won’t be tolerated.

Issue 3

The two party system

The two party system is not addressed in the Constitution. It has become the de facto standard for administration in the legislative branch. It has its advantages and disadvantages. The founders of the United States of America were brilliant statesmen many of whom willing to put their lives on the line to resist what they consider to be the despotic governance of George III, the King of England. Their results were excellent and the resulting documents have served U.S. well for nearly two and a half centuries. There is room for update and/or improvement of the document(s) and this author supports such efforts when effected in the manner specified in the Constitution. For example, the enumeration of individual rights could be improved. This author would recommend an examination of the Swedish Constitution to serve as a model.

Codification of the two party system might be appropriate. Consider that the third person in the line of succession to the President of the United States is the Speaker of the House. The speaker of the house is selected from the party that has the most seats in the House of Representatives. A very large percentage of the Representatives, usually nearly half the country, have no say in selection of the Speaker of the House of Representatives. With that amount of power available to an individual the person third in the line of succession should be representative of the whole country as only the entire House of Representatives can provide.
